CMW tops Fallston, IND in field hockey

Jenny Eckert scored three goals Monday to lead C. Milton Wright (7-1) to a 3-0 non-league victory over visiting private school power, IND.

The score stood at 1-0 at the half as Eckert's first goal was assisted by Emily Brandt. Eckert's second goal came off a pass from Emily Jachelski and her final goal came late in the second half when she converted a pass from Brooke Williams.

Mustangs edge Cougars

CMW (2-0) earned a huge field hockey victory on Friday, defeating the Fallston Cougars, 2-1, in UCBAC Chesapeake Division play.

Fallston (2-1, 4-3) struck first in Friday's match, scoring 13 minutes into the first half.

With four minutes remaining in the first half, the Mustangs converted on a penalty corner, with Jenny Eckert scoring with the help of an assist from Maggie Gallagher.

Seven minutes into the second half, Sabrina Rhodes deflected teammate Emily Brandt's shot into the Fallston net for the game-winning goal.

Sophomore goalie Sydney Rhodes and the C. Milton Wright defense continued their season-long strong performance; allowing only their second goal in the last five games.

North Harford pounds Patterson Mill

The North Harford Hawks (2-1, 5-2) defeated the visiting Patterson Mill (1-1-1, 2-4-1) squad on Friday, 8-1, in Chesapeake play.

Becca Rinaca led the Hawks with a four-goal performance, while Kara Parks added three goals to the winning tally. Maddy Dolinar had one goal and one assist in the victory. Katie Owens paced the Hawks in assists with two.

Patterson Mill's lone goal was scored by Mariel Castronova, and Linnea Gonzalez provided the assist.

North Harford led, 3-0, at halftime.

Joppatowne over Edgewood

The Joppatowne Mariners (2-1, 5-2) earned a 2-1 Susquehanna road victory over Edgewood (1-2, 3-3) on Friday.

Brianna Hamburg scored both of the Mariners' goals, with Ashley Martinez and Katelyn Fabi providing the assists.

Edgewood's goal was scored with nine seconds left in the first half by Nicole Beundridge.

Edgewood goalie Lissette Yeargain had 16 saves in the loss.

Bo Manor tops Bel Air

The Bel Air (0-3, 3-4) field hockey squad was shut out 2-0 at home on Thursday night by the visiting Bo Manor Eagles in Chesapeake action.

The score at halftime was 0-0.

Bobcats goalie Meghan Mingioni posted 11 saves in the loss.

Other scores

In two Susquehanna games played Friday, Aberdeen (0-2-1, 1-5-1) was shut out by visiting North East, 4-0, while Havre de Grace (0-3, 0-7) was also held scoreless, losing to visiting Elkton, 6-0.
