Patterson Mill, Aberdeen, Joppatowne North Harford all win in field hockey

Aside from tournament play, Patterson Mill won its first regular season field hockey game Tuesday, beating visiting John Carroll, 5-0. The loss was the second in two days for the Patriots (0-2).

Scoring for the Huskies, each with one goal were, Mariel Castronova, Alyssa Jourdan, Katie Meek, Jaelyn Felts and Christina Claypool.

Adding assists were Alex Lebovic (2), Castronova, Linnea Gonzales and Ronelle Bautista.

Huskies goalie Maddie Hedrick had two saves in goal for the Huskies, who led at halftime, 4-0.

Mariners edge Eagles

Joppatowne moved its record to 2-1 Tuesday with a 1-0 win over visiting Harford Christian.

Joppatowne's Trenae Thomas scored the game's lone goal, unassisted, in the second half.

April Kinyua had five saves for Joppatowne and Harford Christian goalie Haley Stephens had 12 saves.

"Both goalies kept their teams in the game with great plays," Stella Kalambihis, Joppatowne's coach, said.

Hawks show no 'Mercy'

North Harford scored four goals in each half Tuesday night to beat visiting Mercy, 8-0, in non-league action. The Hawks are 1-1.

North Harford goals were scored by Sophie Crowther (2), Shannon Mansberger (2), Becca Rinaca, Juliet Dolinar, Jaime Rickey and Kara Parks.

Maddy Dolinar added two assists, while single assists were credited to Juliet Dolinar, Becca Rinaca, Shannon Mansberger, Haley Ensor and Katie Owens.

North Harford played three goalies - Abby Phillips, Amanda Carter and Jessica Hart. The Hawks did not have a save in the game.

Eagles crush Warriors

Aberdeen had no trouble in getting its first win, blanking host Havre de Grace, 8-0, Tuesday afternoon. Aberdeen goals were scored by Isobel Hawes (3), Megan Lutrey (2), Ana Neuman (2) and Caroline Huang.
