Bel Air wins two, Tech shuts out Joppatowne in field hockey

The Bel Air Bobcats made it two wins in a row to start the field hockey season with a 3-0 win over visiting Reservoir Tuesday.

Maddie Healey scored twice to lead the Bobcats, but it was Claire Howard who put the Bobcats on the scoreboard with 7:16 remaining in the first half. Howard's goal was assisted by Judy Yurkofsky.

Healey then scored her first goal with 25:41 remaining in the game, assisted by Tori Gryglewski. Healy added her second goal with 11:47 remaining, with Yurkofsky picking up her second assist.

Bel Air goalie Meghan Mingioni had five saves in goal.

Cobras edge Mariners

Harford Tech picked up a win Tuesday, beating host Joppatowne, 1-0.

Tech's goal was scored by Lyndsey Endlich with an assist from Brooke Fullem in the first half.

Tech had four corners, while Joppatowne had 18 corners, but could not stick one in the net. Tech goalie Kenady Schwinn played a great game in goal with eight saves to preserve the Tech win. Mariners goalie April Kinyua finished with seven saves.
