Two taken to hospital after Fallston tree-cutting accident

Two people were taken to a regional trauma center late Wednesday afternoon following a tree cutting accident in Fallston.

Firefighters first responded to the 2700 block of Parkshire Drive in Fallston after a person cutting a tree fell 10 feet from the ground and a falling limb struck another person, according to Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association Spokesperson Rich Gardiner.

Both patients, believe to be a man and a women, according to fire and rescue personnel on the scene, were taken to a regional trauma center by Fallston Volunteer Fire Company ambulance, Gardiner said. He did not know their condition or the identities.

The somewhat remote neighborhood where the accident occurred is off Laurel Brook Road adjacent to the Gunpowder Falls State Park.

Rescue personnel originally put in a call for a Medevac transport but later canceled the helicopter en route, according to monitored emergency radio transmissions.
