Man shot in Edgewood, condition still critical

A man was shot Wednesday night in Edgewood and flown to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he remained in critical condition Thursday afternoon.

Harford County sheriff's deputies responded around 10:10 p.m. to the 1700 block of Fountain Rock Way and found a black man in his 20s, suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the torso, Monica Worrell, spokesperson for the sheriff's office, said.

Jemar Hurt, 32, of Edgewood, was listed in critical condition, Worrell said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

Hurt was flown to the trauma center by state police Medevac.

Police searched the area where the shooting occurred; however, there are no suspects as of Thursday afternoon. Preliminary investigation indicated the shooting did not appear to be a random act of violence, Worrell said earlier.
