15 'graduate' from Darlington Elementary School

On June 12, Darlington Elementary School held its fifth-grade farewell with Principal Brenda Taylor officiating the program. Attending the program for the graduation fifth grade students included students from years gone by, State Sen. Barry Glassman, Rev. Nancy Dilliplane, rector of Grace Memorial Church, Rev. Sarah Standiford, Deer Creek Parish, Nancy Hill, education specialist at Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union and faculty, staff, parents, grandparents, friends and guests.

Many certificates of achievement, awards and "gold dollars" were awarded to the Class of 2013. The program concluded with an outstanding presentation of the many memorable events from past school year.

The students, graduates and families enjoyed a lovely reception in the school library after the program.

The Class of 2013 included Sean Affayroux, Cameron Barben, Hannah Baublitz, Dylan Brand-Ham, Kyleigh Givens, Christopher Kalambihis, Chance Kiser, Charles Marts, Thomas Quintal, Reichard Randow Jr., Cole Reeves, Kassie Reeves, Benjamin Skelley, Tyler Tart and Sarah Vipperman.

Dublin United Methodist will be holding Vacation Bible School from July 15 through 19 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. "Fun Fare Where God's World Comes Together" is the theme for the week. Come out for a light supper at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy this fun-filled week with lots to learn and do. For registration or any other information call the church office, 410-457-8003.

The Harford Artists Gallery presents the "The Lazy Days of Summer" from July 11 to Sept. 1. Reception is on Saturday, July 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. Gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays, 1 to 6 p.m., Saturdays, noon to 6 p.m., and Sundays, noon to 4 p.m. in the little cottage at Rockfield Manor, 503 Churchville Road in Bel Air.

Grace Memorial Episcopal Church's annual chicken barbecue dinner is Saturday, July 13 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Parish Hall, 1022 Main St. in Darlington. Full dinners are $12 - take out only. Contact the church, 410-836-3587, to pre-order. Walk-ins are welcome.

Conowingo Pool is open through Sept. 2 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. The pool is at 4948 Conowingo Road, in Darlington, on Route 1 right before crossing the Conowingo Dam.
