Maryland State Police make drug arrest in Aberdeen

Maryland State Police arrested a Havre de Grace man early Saturday in Aberdeen on charges of possessing cocaine, police reported.

A police dog and officer responded to Walgreens, on Beards Hill Road near Route 22, at about 11 a.m. after a resident reported seeing a Jeep possibly making a drug deal, Sgt. Chatfield of the Bel Air Barrack said.

Police followed the man to Old Post Road and Apache Road, where they arrested Craig Christopher Wilson, 25, of the 700 block of Pulaski Highway in Havre de Grace, for having 6.8 grams of suspected cocaine.

A handful of sheriff's office cars responded to the incident because they happened to be in the area to serve a warrant, not because of a need for back-up, Chatfield said.

No other issues were reported with the arrest.

Wilson was charged with possessing a drug other than marijuana.
