Three-vehicle crash in Darlington closes Route 1, sends four to hospitals Thursday

A three-vehicle crash on Route 1 in Darlington sent four people to hospitals and closed the road for at least an hour Wednesday afternoon, law enforcement and fire officials reported.

The crash was reported on Route 1 between Main Street and Castleton Road at about 4 p.m.

Two people were flown to a regional trauma center and two were taken by ambulance to a trauma center, Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association spokesman Rich Gardiner said.

All injuries were serious but not life-threatening, he said.

The crash involved a 2010 Honda motorcycle, a 2007 Toyota and a 1995 Chevrolet, according to Maryland State Police.

Units from Darlington, Level and Port Deposit fire companies responded, Gardiner said. Maryland State Police are investigating.

No further details were available Thursday afternoon. An accident report was not available.
