Harford County auctioneer crowned World Champion Auctioneer

Lynne Zink, of Joppa, a former educator at Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts, changed careers to become a full-time auctioneer. On Friday, July 20, she was named 2012 International Auctioneer Champion in the Women's Division. The competition took place at the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) Conference and Show at the Spokane Convention Center in Spokane, Wash.

The world's top auctioneers compete for the title of International Auctioneer Champion (IAC) and are judged on their presentation, chant, voice timbre, body language, interview answers and other performance elements of effective auctioneering.

IAC champions serve as industry ambassadors and will spend the next year traveling throughout the country training auctioneers and representing the industry before the public.

Zink has been in the auction profession since 2001, specializing in benefit auctions, real estate and personal property. She is president of the Auctioneers Association of Maryland and has also earned the honors of Auctioneer of the Year and Maryland State Bid Calling Champion.
