Angela Marie Bucci awarded a National Science Foundation graduate research fellowship

Angela Marie Bucci has been awarded a National Science Foundation graduate research fellowship. She is pursuing a PhD focusing on sensory biology and forensic entomology and will examine how sensory specialization of insects shapes the temporal community organization of necrophorous insects at a decomposing body. Bucci graduated from The Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore in 2007 and earned a bachelor of science, magna cum laude, from Loyola University of Maryland in May 2011. At Loyola, she was president of the Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit Honor Society and the Tri Beta Biological Honor Society. She is entering her second year in a doctoral program at North Carolina State University Graduate School in Raleigh, N.C. She is the daughter of Theresa M. Simon and the granddaughter of Richard A. and Mary J. Bucci of Bel Air.
