The boards of directors of the Harford Mutual Insurance Companies, based in Bel Air, have announced election of Mark D. King, CPA, to be vice president and chief financial officer for the firm, effective Oct. 10.
King assumes direct oversight responsibilities for the accounting, finance and treasury areas of the company, and will address financial strategic and operational activities.
A resident of Ellicott City, King received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Towson University and his CPA designation in 1992. His extensive experience includes work in the insurance division of the highly-regarded public accounting firms of Clifton Gunderson and Naden/Lean.
Harford Mutual is a property and casualty insurance company writing business in seven Mid-Atlantic States and the District of Columbia. The Bel Air-headquartered company is represented by approximately 300 independent agents, writing approximately $100 million in direct written premium.
