Two children injured after Joppa accident involving school bus Tuesday

Two children were taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air Tuesday after an accident involving a school bus in Joppa.

The children, both of the 300 block of Blackburn Court in Joppa, were in a 2008 Toyota Sienna Tuesday around 6:54 a.m. when the driver, Peyton Victoria Gilley-Neilson, 36, attempted to make a left turn from Trimble Road to Magnolia Road, according to an accident report.

As Gilley-Neilson was turning left to go north on Magnolia Road, Cheryl Morris, 56, of the 400 block of Barksdale Road in Joppa, was traveling west on Trimble Road toward the intersection in a school bus owned by Day Bus Company and struck the Toyota.

The children, ages 9 and 11, were transported by Joppa-Magnolia ambulance to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
