Patriots' early goal leads to 1-0 win over Mustangs

John Carroll defeated visiting C. Milton Wright, 1-0, Monday afternoon in non-league boys soccer action.

The lone score of the game came in the third minute when Vincent Perry scored off a Paul Hammons pass. Patriot goalkeeper Kevin Gambrell recorded the first shutout of his soccer career with two saves. Mustangs keeper Colin Miller recorded five saves. The Patriots are 2-0-1.

Eagles blank Rams

Host Aberdeen scored four first half goals and added three more in the second to blank Edgewood, 7-0, Monday afternoon.

Jacob Kilmon, Kevin Shumaker and Justin Howard tallied two goals each to lead the Eagles, while Andy Montgomery had a single tally.

Hunter Haag dished out two assists, while others with assists were Hunter Murray, Shumaker, Montgomery, Ben Sanderson and Andrew Frazer.

Thomas Moore and Naveed Rahman each played in goal for Aberdeen with two saves apiece. Eric Glover made 15 saves for Edgewood.

Bobcats beat 'Gators

Bel Air scored two second half goals to upend host Perry Hall, 2-0, Monday night.

Goals were scored by Nat Hand and Carson Kalama, while Kalama and Danny Morgan each had assists. Christian Vito was in the goal, making 15 saves for the win. Bobcats coach Dominic Rose noted It was a very physical and intense game.
