Belcamp woman injured by father of her children

A Belcamp woman was injured after the father of her children allegedly attacked and choked her on Thursday, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported.

Deputies have an arrest warrant for the alleged attacker, Dale Johnson, 32, charging him with second-degree assault, Sheriff's Office spokesman Eddie Hopkins said Tuesday.

Police responded to a home in the 200 block of Golden Eagle Way at 11:58 a.m. that day, where a woman said the father of her children came home drunk and started arguing with her.

"She was struck in head and face by the suspect[,] who punched her several times," Hopkins said in an e-mail. "She fell to the floor[,] whereupon the suspect began to choke her. She began to lose consciousness. When he stopped choking her[,] she was able to get away from him and lock herself in the bathroom."

The woman escaped with a child. Deputies noticed injuries to her face and she was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Hopkins said.
