Body identified as Abingdon man reported missing in September

The man found dead in Abingdon Tuesday was identified as 22-year-old Laron T. Bell, who had been missing since Sept. 8, Harford Sheriff's Office Lt. James Eyler said Wednesday afternoon.

A Facebook page called Help Find Laron Bell posted a message that funeral services for Mr. Bell, who was also known as "Littles," will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chapmans Funeral Home in Baltimore.

Mr. Bell's body was found less than half a mile from his home, on a former county landfill in the 1300 block of Harford Town Drive, at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is not expected to have a cause of death for about a week, Eyler said.

Mr. Bell lived with his grandmother in the 3700 block of Trailwood Court, which is in a development across the street from the former Bush Valley landfill property, where the body was found. Police said Mr. Bell has a 4-year-old daughter.

No obvious signs of foul play were found by detectives, according to a sheriff's office news release issued Tuesday a few hours after the body was found.
