The weather was perfect Saturday as more than 300 motorcycles filled the lot at Chesapeake Harley Davidson in Darlington for the 2013 Amelia's Ace of Hearts Ride. The 50-mile ride started at the dealership and meandered through Harford and Cecil counties as well as Pennsylvania and ended back near the starting point where there was after-party at the Union Hotel in Port Deposit. This year's ride was took on a more special meaning as one of its loyal volunteers, Mindy Oakley-Crawford, of Bel Air, was diagnosed in September with breast cancer. The ride was started in 2005 with the goal to supply aid and money for breast cancer research. This year's ride raised approximately $12,000 which benefits The Red Devils of Maryland, a breast cancer organization that helps Maryland women and families dealing with the disease. This year's ride sponsors were Chesapeake Harley-Davidson, 98 Rock, Hinchy Construction, Vendetta Wear, Iron Order Motorcycle Club, Jordan Thomas Salon, Pizza Hut of Maryland, Riders Insurance, The Union Hotel, Wicked Wood Art, which donated a custom made guitar for a raffle, Greenberg Law Offices and Victorious Faith Fellowship.
