Police search for man who fired shot into Glen Burnie home

Anne Arundel police are searching for a man who fired a shot into a Glen Burnie home Friday night, narrowly missing a resident sleeping there.

Officers responded to the Secluded Post Circle residence shortly before 10 p.m. for reports of shots fired through the window of a home, police said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 27-year-old man visiting family in the area was walking in 7900 block of Gentle Breeze Court when he was approached by a man armed with a semi-automatic handgun, police said.

The man ran toward Secluded Post Circle and was chased by the gunman, who then fired multiple shots, police said.

One of the shots traveled several hundred feet across the street and through the front window of a home. The bullet lodged into a wall four feet above a resident sleeping in the home, police said.

Witnesses reported hearing three or four shots and seeing two men drive away in a mid-2000s black and gray Chevrolet Avalanche with chrome wheels.

Witnesses also reported seeing a man walking in the area minutes before the shooting.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Eastern District detectives at 410-222-6145.

Information can be provided anonymously by calling the Metro Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-866-7LOCKUP or texting "MCS" plus a message to CRIMES (274637).
