A Pasadena police helicopter crashed Saturday afternoon after hitting another helicopter on the ground, injuring five people, authorities said.

The helicopter was either taking off or landing when it hit another helicopter on the ground at the department's heliport at 2175 Yucca Lane, said Sgt. Ed Calatayud. The crash occurred just after 4 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Times

The injuries were not life-threatening, and the victims were taken to area hospitals, Calatayud said. All of the injured were believed to be with the department.
