Today's is the ninth annual Guinness World Records Day, and one of the highlights is a 109-foot, 9-inch basketball shot sunk by Corey "Thunder" Law of The Original Harlem Globetrotters.
The rookie athlete for the traveling basketball team took the record-breaking shot at the US Airways Center in Phoenix. He was trying alongside two other Globetrotters, and it took an hour of alternating tries before the basket was sunk.
The previous record of 104 feet, 7 inches was held by former Pepperdine University player Elan Buller on Feb. 16, 2011.
It was just one of many world-record attempts for this, the ninth annual Guinness World Records Day.
