Waffle House forced one of its waitresses to return a $1,000 tip she received from a patron on Mother's Day, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Shaina Brown received the generous tip from a businessman who wished to remain anonymous, but since he paid with a credit card the North Carolina restaurant where she works said it had to be refunded, as per company policy.
The man told Brown "I'm going to bless you tonight" and then wrote $1,500 in the tip line of his receipt, telling her to give $500 to a woman at another table and to keep the rest for herself.
A columnist who followed Brown's story for the Observer contacted the businessman and he said he plans to give Brown the tip money in the form of a check.
