Reason #786 on why America is so awesome: Burger battles.
In a calorie-filled competition for the ages, the Orlando Fire Department challenged the Orlando Predators football team Wednesday night in the third annual Burger Battle at Smokey Bones on East Colonial Drive in Orlando.
The charity event had two teams of six hungry men chow down on the specialty burgers in a relay eating contest.
If you can't see the video on mobile, here's "Firefighters, Predators in burger battle."
Sitting at adjacent tables surrounded by cheering onlookers, the teams mauled a collection of Smokey Bones' signature burgers topped with bacon, fried onions, cheese and barbecue sauce.
While the firefighters put up a solid performance, it was the football players who took the burger crown, finishing their six burgers in less than 12 minutes.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
