Winter Park wide receiver Dvario Montgomery, ranked by the Sentinel as the top rising senior prospect in Central Florida, has missed most of spring practice with a high-ankle sprain.
Montgomery (6-3, 205) suffered the injury during one-on-one drills but said the sprain is not severe.
“My main goal is to have it healthy before the season starts, so I’m kind of taking it easy, not trying to get out there for spring (practice),” said Montgomery, who added that the only rehab he has had to do is icing his ankle and stretching with elastic bands.
Although Montgomery may not be cleared to play in Winter Park’s spring game against Deltona on Thursday, the popular consensus amongst members of the Winter Park football program is that Montgomery will participate to a certain extent in the contest.
In the accompanying video, Montgomery further discusses his injury, the role it’s had on his recruitment and who has stepped up in his place since he’s been sidelined.
