If you have used the Google Maps app on your smartphone recently, you might have noticed a new feature.
Just in time for April Fools' Day, the company has launched the Google Maps Pokemon Challenge, where anyone with the app can catch Pokemon in digital Poke Balls.
When opening the app, click on the search bar and click on "Press Start" with a blue Poke Ball next to it. Your map then zooms in on Japan, where the screen is populated with Nintendo's Pokemon.
A promotional YouTube video on the the official Google Maps YouTube channel challenges users to catch all 150 Pokemon to earn the chance of becoming a Google Maps Pokemon master.
It's an elaborate gag, and while it might not lead to a position at the Fortune 500 company, it is still fun to explore the maps and catch the fantasy pets while you can.
Other companies that have gotten in on April Fool's day fun include Cheetos, which is supposedly releasing a Cheetos flavored fragrance, and Google-owned YouTube, which released a video of trends that will go viral in the next year.
Fruit of the Loom has even "introduced" a finger-sized iron that will get the wrinkles out of your undies.
