Florida woman pushes for 'nude friendly' beach

A Jacksonville resident has created a proposal to have one mile of Jacksonville Beach designated as "clothing-optional," WAWS reports

Angela Anderson, 19, has started the online petition seeking to turn a stretch of Jacksonville Beach into a "nude friendly" beach, obeying but disagreeing with the rules forbidding beach nudity.

Jacksonville Beach mayor Charlie Latham has long supported clothing being required on the beach, according to WAWS.

The Change.org petition had 822 supporters as of noon Wednesday.

There are no clothing-optional beaches in Northeast Florida.
