Resident forced to strip during home invasion

The Orlando Police Department is investigating a home invasion after shots were fired.

Two men and one woman broke into a home in the 4500 block of Brooke Street in the Richmond Heights neighborhood around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, said Orlando Police Lt. Vincent Ogburn, Sr.

All three attackers wore bandannas over their faces and were allegedly armed with black, semi-automatic guns, the police field report said.

When they forced their way into the single-story home, one of the residents – Watson Valere – ran to the west side of the home, jumped out the window and ran westbound on Brooke Street, the report said.

Valere told police the suspects fired at him twice while he was running.

The suspects allegedly forced the other resident – Jean Blaise – to take all of his clothes off.

They then went through Blaise's clothes and closet stealing money, the report said.

Once they left, Blaise put his clothes back on and attempted to chase them through the neighborhood.

Blaise told police he saw the three suspects travel west on Brooke Street then northbound on Willie Mays Parkway.

Police said no one was injured during the attack.

The woman was described by police as wearing a pink, hooded sweat shirt and black shorts.

The men were described by police as wearing black pants.

The shooting and home invasion remain part of an active investigation.
