During the Orlando Cabaret Festival, local singers perform during the daytime or in the early evening before the headliners. Shows are at Mad Cow Theatre, 54 W. Church St., Orlando; check the schedule at orlandocabaretfestival.com Tickets are $20-$25. On the bill:
• Amy Martin Cole sang for many years with the Voices of Liberty at Walt Disney World's Epcot, as well as performing in theaters around town. She performed "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and has soloed with Disney's Encore Cast Performing Arts.
• Margaret Cross has appeared in "Guys & Dolls" at Mad Cow Theatre and sung with the Orlando Philharmonic. Other stage work includes "Finian's Rainbow" and "Titanic." In New York City, Cross sang with jazz bands Mona's Hot Four and The Big Swinging Dixies, and she co-conceived and directed "A Flanders & Swann House Party."
• Sarah Hanchar and accompanist/composer, Elaine Pechacek, are the team behind "Happy Pink Girl Sings," as seen at the Orlando Fringe Festival. The all-original show takes a lighthearted look at the life of a Florida theme-park actor, from awkward auditions to body image, to a cockroach phobia.
• Chris McCabe will spotlight tunes from composers Jason Robert Brown, Scott Alan, Stephen Sondheim and Stephen Schwartz, among others. McCabe received a degree in musical theater from New World School of the Arts in Miami. His credits include "The Light in the Piazza," the South Florida premiere of "Bare," Off-Broadway's "Judy & Me" and the national tour of "Bathhouse The Musical!"Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
