Orlando Bishop Moore QB Danny May chooses Trinity College in Connecticut

Orlando Bishop Moore quarterback Danny May has committed to play at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.

"It's one of the top Division III programs in the country, and was one of only three undefeated teams [8-0] last year [the others Ohio State and Mount Union]," May said. "They've won 80 of their last 88 games, and haven't lost at home in 12 years. Plus, I've got a chance to compete for the starting QB spot, which is all I could ask for."

May looked like he was headed for Georgetown but then he started getting other interest, including inquiries from a few Ivy League schools.

"Trinity seemed to be a better fit for me than Georgetown and some of the Ivy schools that had shown interest," May said. "I am very excited to get the playbook and start preparing."

May had a tremendous season for the Hornets, guiding Bishop Moore into the second round of the Florida Class 5A state playoffs. The Hornets lost their first two games to teams — Orlando First Academy and Kissimmee Osceola — that wound up in the state semifinals. They then won eight in a row before ending the season with a playoff loss to St. Petersburg Lakewood.

He threw for nearly about 800 yards for a team that spent most of the time running the ball. He completed just under 60 percent of his passes and had 10 touchdowns.
