The Orlando Police Department is searching for a gunman Tuesday after a robbery at a local Dollar Tree.
The armed man stole an undetermined amount of cash from the 5760 N. Orange Blossom Trail location around 9:51 p.m. Monday, police said.
Dollar Tree Duty Manager Shuntika Holmes told police she was walking to the front of the store when the gunman approached her in aisle three, pointed his gun and ordered her to open the registers.
"She was so afraid that she said there is no money in the register, it is in the safe," the police field report said.
The gunman ordered her to open the safe and put cash into a "black and white cheetah print" draw string bag, the report said.
The suspect covered his face completely with bandannas and sunglasses making it difficult for witnesses to give an accurate description to police.
Tiffany Coleman, a Dollar Tree employee, described the man's gun as small, silver with a brown handle, the report said. She also described the gunman as 5'2" or 5'3".
When the gunman fled the scene he dropped the gun in front of the Hungry Howie's next door then grabbed it and kept running, witnesses told police.
Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
