With national broadcast networks almost completely passing on the Orlando Magic this season, the team announced today that Fox Sports Florida will air 81 of the team's 82 regular-season games and two preseason exhibitions.
The Magic originally were scheduled to have just two of their games air on national TV, both by ESPN: the Nov. 16 game at Detroit and the Dec. 14 game against Golden State.
But ESPN no longer will televise the game against Detroit.
This is the first time team history that one local outlet will broadcast Magic games exclusively. Fox Sports Florida and Sun Sports both showed Magic games in recent seasons, a setup that created confusion for some fans.
This preseason, Fox Sports Florida will air the Sunday, Oct. 21 exhibition against San Antonio at Amway Center and the Friday, Oct. 26 exhibition versus Houston at Amway Center.
David Steele continues to be the Magic's local TV play-by-play voice. Former Magic coach Matt Guokas will do the color commentary.
Paul Kennedy will host the pregame and postgame studio shows, which also will feature former Magic players Nick Anderson and Jeff Turner.
Dante Marchitelli and Jessica Blaylock will provide in-game reports.
The Dec. 14 game against Golden State in Orlando will be the only regular-season game Fox Sports Florida won't televise.
