An NBA scout evaluates Kansas shooting guard Ben McLemore

Orlando Sentinel

Ryan Blake, the senior director of NBA scouting operations, offers his take on Kansas Jayhawks shooting guard Ben McLemore:

“McLemore is a guy that I really like. He’s silky smooth. He’s a redshirt freshman with great size and great athleticism. He can score from deep or he can score from inside. He’s smooth and athletic. He can get up over people and shoot over people and he can defend.

"Now, if you get a Dwyane Wade or a Ray Allen, you’ve got yourself a great player, and this is who this guy can turn into being. He’s come from a background where he’s worked hard to have that motivation, with a chip on his shoulder and a work ethic to do that. He shoots 42 percent from behind the arc.”
