The Orlando Magic formally signed free-agent point guard Ronnie Price on Thursday afternoon.
Price, 30, will serve as a backup to starter Jameer Nelson and perhaps also to Victor Oladipo, E’Twaun Moore and Doron Lamb.
The Magic signed Price to a one-year contract that is fully guaranteed for $1.26 million, the veteran’s minimum salary for a player with eight years of NBA experience.
Price appeared in 39 games last season for the Portland Trail Blazers and averaged 2.7 points, 1.9 assists and 0.9 assists in 13.1 minutes per game.
Magic officials believe Price, who is 6-feet-2, will provide a strong veteran presence for their youth-laden roster.
