Legoland Florida: Free annual passes for teachers

Sentinel Staff Writer

Florida teachers can get a free year of annual passes to Legoland Florida, the theme park currently under construction in Winter Haven.

They will receive the park's "Standard Adult Annual Pass," which currently sells for $129. To receive the pass, participants must register online (, where there will be a page to print out and take to Legoland Florida's ticket window, along with their most recent pay stub, Florida photo ID and teaching certificate.

The offer was announced in conjunction with Legoland's educational programs and possible field trips, which will begin in November. Program offerings range from building machines with gears, pulleys, levers and motors to creating a theme park ride for the study of speed and direction to using "Adventure-bots" with light and sound sensors.

Legoland Florida is scheduled to open to the public on Oct. 15.

Teachers can pick up their passes before the grand opening during the theme park's designated days for advance-pass distribution: Sept. 16, 17, 23 and 24 (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) plus Sept. 18 and 25 (noon to 5 p.m.). Others with annual-pass vouchers can also beat the opening-day rush at those times, and folks who have not yet purchased tickets can do so then too.
