Hue closing in downtown Orlando, will re-open in fall with new concept

HUE in Thornton Park will close in the coming weeks, prior to the slow season that summer brings. The space will reopen in the fall with a new dining concept.

"It was time," said developer Craig Ustler. "We are coming up on our 12th year with Hue and it has been a good run. We are curious about what we can do with the space to raise the bar for the downtown Orlando restaurant scene. I don't have a specific plan, but closing Hue before summer just made good business sense."

Ustler, who is president of Urban Life Management Group, mentioned a restaurant developed around the farm-to-table movement as one possible category for the new venue.

HUE opened on the corner of Central Boulevard and Summerlin Avenue in December of 2001. Urban Life Management Group will honor gift certificates for HUE at Citrus, 821 N. Orange Ave. in downtown Orlando or Cityfish, 617 E. Central Blvd. near Hue.
