'Frozen': Idina Menzel to sing at Oscars

Staff writer

Will it be a sing-along number?

Tony-winner Idina Menzel will sing "Let It Go" from the beloved Disney blockbuster "Frozen" at the Oscars March 2 on ABC. If the Oscar producers are wise, they'll put the number at the telecast's beginning and let all young "Frozen" fans sing along at home.

Menzel sang the catchy tune as Queen Elsa in the animated movie. Menzel has legions of fans for originating Elphaba in the Broadway musical "Wicked."

Ellen DeGeneres will host Hollywood's biggest night. There are three other nominees for best song: "Happy" from "Despicable Me 2," "Ordinary Love" from "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom" and "The Moon Song" from "Her."

It has been announced that Pharrell Williams will sing "Happy" at the Oscars.

U2 won the Golden Globe for "Ordinary Love."

Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Santino Fontana reunited on Sunday to sing "Frozen" songs at a club in Los Angeles.
