E'TWAUN MOORE, POINT GUARD/SHOOTING GUARD
HT: 6-3 WT: 191 COLLEGE: Purdue
AGE: Turns 24 on Feb. 25, 2013
NBA SEASONS: 2012-13 is his second.
TWITTER HANDLE: @ETwaun55
HOW HE CAME TO ORLANDO: Signed as a free agent this summer to a two-year deal after being traded in July by the Boston Celtics to the Houston Rockets, who then waived him. . . . Drafted by the Celtics in 2011, Moore played in Italy during the lockout.
SCOUTING REPORT: Moore is seen as more of a shooting guard than a point guard. But he will be the primary back-up behind Jameer Nelson at least through mid-November, when Ish Smith is expected to return from an injury. He gives the Magic some much-needed size at the point-guard position, and can score. Needs to improve overall game and gain experience after seeing little action with the Celtics last season. Moore averaged just 2.9 points in 38 games and shot just 38.1 percent from the field with 0.9 assists per game. He played well in summer-league games in Las Vegas.
ODDS & ENDS: Moore’s career game came against the Magic last season. He scored 16 points, including 4-of-4 from 3-point range, to help the Celtics come back from a 27-point deficit to beat Orlando…The “E’s” run wild in E’Twaun’s family. There’s his sister, Ekeisha; his mother, Edna; his father, Ezell Sr.; and his brother, Ezell Jr.
