The latest Disneynature documentary hits theaters nationwide Friday in time for Earth Day.
"Bears" tells the story of a mother, Sky, teaching her young cubs valuable life lessons as they live their lives in scenic Alaska.
The documentary is narrated by John C. Reilly, known for his roles in films like "Step Brothers," "Magnolia" and "The Aviator." Reilly recently provided the voice for the main character in the Disney animated film "Wreck-It Ralph."
"Bear" is a true-life adventure that showcases a year in the life of Sky and her two cubs, Amber and Scout, beginning at the end of winter when the family emerges from hibernation.
As the seasons change, the family must work hard to find food, all while staying safe from rival male bears and predators.
The film is directed by Alastair Fothergill, who has directed other Disneynature films including "Earth," "African Cats" and "Chimpanzee." Producer Keith Scholey worked with Fothergill on "African Cats," a 2011 documentary about several lions and cheetahs fighting to survive on the African savannah.
