All three major Central Florida theme-park companies plus the owner of Fun Spot took home Golden Ticket Awards this weekend. Winners of 25 categories were determined by an international poll of Amusement Today, a trade publication.
John Arie Sr., owner of Fun Spot Attractions, was one of two "person of the year" winners chosen by Gary Slade, Amusement Today's publisher and editor. Arie was recognized "for living out his dream of providing affordable family thrills in today’s market and launching the new $25 million, 15-acre Fun Spot America in the heart of Orlando’s competitive tourism area." Fun Spot locations are near International Drive and in Kissimmee.

+ SeaWorld Orlando, best marine-life park.
+ Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando, best Halloween event.
+ IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot, best outdoor night show production.
+ Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls at Islands of Adventure, best water ride.
+ Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Islands of Adventure, best dark ride.
+ Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Orlando, best indoor roller coaster.
