Magic Kingdom: Festival of Fantasy parade kicks off March 9

The new daytime parade at Magic Kingdom, dubbed Festival of Fantasy, will debut at the theme park on March 9, Walt Disney World announced Monday.

The parade will feature floats devoted to Disney characters from classic animated movies such as "Peter "Pan" and contemporary films such as "Tangled" and "Brave."  It will be the parade debuts of Anna and Elsa from Disney's current hit, "Frozen." Festival of Fantasy will come with its own soundtrack and new costumes for its 100-member cast.

The Magic Kingdom has been without its afternoon parade since early January, when the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade was retired.  Disney also plans to end Mickey's Jungle Jammin' Parade at Disney's Animal Kingdom at some point this summer.
