Walt Disney World will celebrate Epcot's 30th birthday with a smattering of events on Monday. The theme park was born on Oct. 1, 1982.
•D23, the official Disney fan club, will present three session on the history of Epcot. At 1 p.m., it's "Designing the Future — Past and Present" with a panel of Imagineers. At 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. will be "Epcot: How It Changed the World" with Imagineer (and Disney Legend) Marty Sklar. Seating is limited for these events, which will be held in the World Showplace, a warehouse-like venue, which has an entrance between the Canada and United Kingdom pavilions.
•At 3 p.m., there will be an anniversary "moment" at the America Gardens Theatre. Look for performances by the Voices of Liberty and Mariachi Cobre and appearances by Disney officials.
•The evening will be capped with an extended version of the nightly "IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth" show, beginning at 9 p.m.
