Dr. Phil McGraw will open his 12th season with an interview with the mother of "Bachelor" contestant Gia Allemand, who took her life.
Donna Micheletti is a guest on the Tuesday edition of "Dr. Phil," which airs at 3 p.m. weekdays on WOFL-Channel 35.
Other guests include "Bachelor" star Jake Pavelka and Penelope Jean Hayes, who was Allemand's publicist and friend.
Micheletti talks about her final phone conversation with Allemand and what the mother believes prompted her daughter to commit suicide last month. Allemand was found in her New Orleans home by her boyfriend, NBA player Ryan Anderson, and rushed to a hospital, where she died two days later.
"I'm really mad at her that she did this for no reason," Micheletti tells McGraw. "In 12 hours, it would have been fine. I'm really angry."
McGraw is there to offer advice. "Celebrate all of the days of her life," he tells the mother. "And don't focus on just that one moment of her death."
Allemand had lived in Orlando when Anderson played for the Orlando Magic.
