Don't worry, your morning cup of coffee can stay. But for coffee lovers who drink more than four cups a day, you could be in trouble. Drinking too much coffee can negatively impact your metabolism, according to a study by the Western Australian Institute for Medical Research and the University of Western Australia's School of Medicine and Pharmacology.

A compound found in coffee, chlorogenic acid, has been found to cause abnormal retention of fat within the cells of mice, leading to glucose intolerance and insulin resistance.

But it's not all bad news. According to the study, less than four cups a day can lower your risk of heart disease and Type 2 diabetes.
