The Milton native broke records on the football field and on the track at <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="OREDU000030" title="Florida State University" href="/topic/education/florida-state-university-OREDU000030.topic">FSU</a>. Allen played in the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000007" title="NFL" href="/topic/sports/football/nfl-ORSPT000007.topic">NFL</a> for the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000038" title="Cleveland Browns" href="/topic/sports/football/cleveland-browns-ORSPT000038.topic">Cleveland Browns</a> (1985) and <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000220" title="Tampa Bay Buccaneers" href="/topic/sports/football/tampa-bay-buccaneers-ORSPT000220.topic">Tampa Bay Buccaneers</a> (’86). He was taken in the second round of the 1985 draft. Great moment: Allen broke school records against Western Carolina in 1981 when he rushed for 322 yards and accumulated more than 400 all-purpose yards.
