Boyd Anderson DB Demar Dorsey appears close to making full commitment to Gators

Sentinel Staff Writer

Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson defensive back Demar Dorsey, already a Gators soft commitment for 2010, said Friday he feels more committed to Florida after the Friday Night Lights camp.

"I think I’m going to be a Gator," said the 6-foot-1, 175-pound Dorsey, who will make visits to USC, Tennessee and West Virginia. “I like what I’ve seen, and I think I can play here."

Dorsey said he’s been talking up two receivers, Pahokee’s Chris Dunkley and Miramar’s Ivan McCartney, about coming to Florida. Dunkley, easily the best receiver on the field Friday, appears to be Florida’s top target at wide receiver.

He had committed to the Gators last year, but after Dorsey started getting more attention, including being named the MVP at an underclassman combine in January, Dorsey said he remained committed, but was planning to still shop around.

Perhaps Dorsey does have it all planned out and has every intention of wearing the Orange and Blue. But who can blame a kid for wanting to take a few visits?
