Last Season: 4-12, 0-6 division
Playoffs: Missed the postseason
Stat Leaders: QB Matthew Stafford (4,967 YDS, 20 TDS, 17 INTS); RB Mikel Leshoure (798 YDS, 9 TDS); WR Calvin Johnson (1,964 YDS, 5 TDS); LB Stephen Tulloch (112 TACKLES, 0.5 SACKS)
The Buzz: After flirting with success, the Lions managed just four wins last season. It's up to Matthew Stafford, the franchise quarterback, to prove he's capable of getting the offense back on track despite the lack of reliable run support. The running back unit has been beset by injuries and it's unlikely Reggie Bush alone can offset those issues. The defense was once the biggest strength powering the Lions' return to a competitive level, but Ndamukong Suh has yet to match his dominant rookie season. Suh will have to lead a renewed effort by the defensive line. Overall, the defense simply has to do more to help Stafford if the team is going to reach the playoffs.
Luck Factor: Injuries always seem to cause big headaches for the Lions. They'll be lucky to avoid them this season and finally take a step forward as a franchise.
