My Best Shot -- St. Andrews State Park near Panama City

When Louis Rhodes of Orlando was visiting St. Andrews State Park near Panama City in the Florida Panhandle, he caught a picture-perfect view of the sugar-white-sand beach from one of the two piers. The park that opened in 1951 has more than a mile and a half of beach on the Gulf of Mexico and Grand Lagoon, where visitors can swim, snorkel, scuba dive, canoe, fish, hike, camp or just relax in the sun. During World War II, the area was part of St. Andrews Military Reservation and still has cannon platforms on the beach near the jetties.
