When Fritz Baker of Leesburg was visiting the St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park, he found the avian residents even more interesting than the gators. With its beak full of branches for a nest, this bird caught his attention. The attraction, founded in 1893, includes not only alligators and crocodiles but also tortoises and other reptiles and many species of birds from all over the world. The alligator farm is accredited with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
