Castle Craig, Hubbard Park, 199 Notch Road, Meriden, cityofmeriden.org. Visible from I-691, this lookout tower features views of New Haven and Long Island Sound on a clear day. Reachable by hike or drive. Open April-October.
Dinosaur State Park, 400 West St., Rocky Hill, (860) 529-8423, dinosaurstatepark.org. Indoor and outdoor center for all things dinosaur, including a track casting area, reconstruction of a Geologic Formation, dinosaur tracks, nature trails and more.
