The Mark Twain House Hosts Its Sixth Annual 'Tapping Into Twain' Oktoberfest on Friday

One of the many great things about fall in New England is the coming of various Oktoberfest celebrations. And that means, above all else, beer. Head to the Twain House on Friday for "Tapping Into Twain" Oktoberfest, and walk out feeling pretty good, with new friends and a special pint glass (complimentary) to help you remember all the bad jokes you made. Local beers, food from area restaurants, music by the XY Eli Band and DJ Jeffrey Mains and author Tom Acitelli, who'll be signing copies of his book, The Audacity Of Hops: The History Of America's Craft Beer Revolution, round out the evening. (Just a head's up: last year sold out early, so don't sleep on getting tix.)

Sixth Annual "Tapping Into Twain" Oktoberfest

Sept. 27, 5:30-9:30 p.m., $45-$50 ($25 for designated drivers), Mark Twain House & Museum, 351 Farmington Ave., Hartford, (860) 280-3130,
