The Go-Go's Play The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday

They got the beat. The Go-Go's formed in 1978 and was the first all-female band ever whose members both wrote and performed all their own songs and topped the Billboard album charts. The songs you probably know include "We Got The Beat," "Our Lips Are Sealed," "Vacation," "Head Over Heels" and "Turn to You." Singer Belinda Carlisle's autobiography Lips Unsealed came out in 2010, so you've got a chance to read up on the band's route to success, and the dirt and drama that went along with it too, if you're into that sort of thing.

The Go-Go's

The Ridgefield Playhouse, 80 East Ridge, Ridgefield. Thu., June 20, 8 p.m. $90. (203) 438-5795.
