Kandahar massacre

( Handout/Reuters ) On March 11, a United States Army soldier named Robert Bales allegedly killed 16 Afghan civilians in a drunken terror, an incident that has since been referred to as the Kandahar massacre. On March 23, he was formally charged with 17 counts of murder and six counts of assault and attempted murder. He is currently being held at a correctional facility in Kansas. |
